DEZCAL Descaling Powder, 28 g

Urnex Dezcal is one of the most effective descaling agents available for espresso machines, pod and capsule brewers, coffee makers, and electric kettles. Unlike conventional descalers, it contains oxygen‑based activators that dissolve mineral scale rapidly. The product is 100 % biodegradable, non‑toxic, and formulated with additives that protect internal metal components.

A 28 g sachet is the perfect single dose for descaling one espresso or coffee machine with a single boiler up to 0.5 L. Dissolve the powder in lukewarm water, stir well, and run the solution through the brew group and steam wand, keeping the pump on for no more than 45 seconds at a time. Flush at least two full tanks of fresh water through the machine until the brew water no longer tastes acidic.

Note: We do not recommend descaling heat‑exchange or dual‑boiler espresso machines unless the boilers have drain valves, as it can be difficult to rinse all solution from the steam boiler.

The powder may cake together into a hard lump after storage. Simply tap the tub or sachet against a hard surface to loosen it—the product remains fully effective.
