Used at the World Barista Championship, Cafiza’s performance speaks for itself. This high‑alkaline, fully biodegradable powder removes coffee oils from the brew group and is equally effective on portafilters, coffee pots, and thermal servers.

Back‑flush routine

1. Place 3 g (about one teaspoon) of Cafiza in the blind filter and lock the portafilter into the machine.

2. Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then pause for 10 seconds. Repeat this on/off cycle five times.

3. Remove the portafilter and flush until the water runs clear; rinse the basket and handle.

4. Reinsert the portafilter and cycle the pump for another 10 seconds; repeat five times with plain water.

5. Empty and rinse the portafilter once more, then pull a regular espresso shot.

6. Discard that shot. Your machine is now clean and ready for use.

Back‑flushing should be done every 7–14 days on home machines and daily on commercial machines. (Your machine must have a three‑way valve.)

Cleaning portafilters

1. Remove the basket.

2. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Cafiza per 1 litre of boiling water.

3. Soak portafilter and basket for 30 minutes.

4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and reassemble.

Cleaning coffee pots & thermal servers

Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Cafiza per litre of boiling water, fill the vessel, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse well before use.
